so tonight finally had to make a decision about the dc.
we missed saturday and sunday of the one we were assigned to.
i was going to convieniently try to forget (been working most saturdays last few months) but she persisted tonight.
I had my "moment of Zen" in the 80's. We had our Service Meeting on Tuesdays, and the list was posted that night. I had a mobile phone, and called immediately after it was posted. All the good hotels were gone. So much for people waiting to book until the list came out.
I booked with a hotel not on the list, that didn't kick back rooms as gratis to the WTS.

i constantly read that having faith is the answer to knowing that god (or in most cases, jesus) exists.
but to me it's quite clear there are serious difficulties in believing the bible.. adam and eve.

today's high school students in the usa:.
less than 1/2 of them cannot identify the century when our civil war happened.. one in four thought columbus discovered america sometime after 1750.. one in three cannot name one right enumerated in the bill of rights.. three out of four cannot name the first us president.. two out of three do not know the length of term of a member of the house of representatives.. half cannot find britain on a map.. one out of four cannot find america on a map.. when my oldest daughter, who is now a physician was in 9th grade in this once-great state of california, i asked her about the three branches of our federal government.
she was clueless and told me she would take civics in her junior year in high school.

i hope i have not fully screwed up, it seems like my friends whom i have told my true feelings realy, really, deep down inside, love me, and that's why they have not gone to the elders.
also probably because they know that i love them and would never tell them something if i wasn't 100% convinced and knew that it wasn't true.. .

The article by Dick Kelley disturbs me for a number of reasons. The first is that he wrote about Eric as if he personally knew him. I don't know for sure, but I don't think they knew each other in real life. If someone would have information corroborating that they did know each other, I would be more than happy to retract that statement.
I also am bothered by the fact that Dick culled from Eric's posts here to find a vehicle for AAWA to use when discussing how bad disfellowshipping is, and the associated shunning. I know of another person that this AAWA outed, and then wanted to exploit for this same purpose. At least Eric is no longer with us, and cannot personally be hurt. I just worry about others that can be outed that were associated with Eric in real life, due to some of his past indiscreet posting.
